Pastor Jamey grew up in Fremont, MI where at age 18 realized it was God’s plan for him to be involved in life changing ministry through a local church. This plan has led him to various churches along the lakeshore where for 15 years he thrived in youth ministry. “I could have been a Youth Pastor forever, but God obviously had other ideas!”
In 2008 God planted a church planting seed deep in Jamey’s heart that grew into a burden too strong to ignore. In the summer of 2009, God moved Pastor Jamey out of youth ministry and into the role of a church planter, resulting in Genesis Community Church. Since that time, PJ has been serving in the role as Lead Pastor at Genesis and in his words, “Loves it!”
Pastor Jamey attended Cornerstone University, receiving a B.A. in Youth Education and a Masters in Divinity from Liberty University.
He and his wife Cheryl reside in the Fruitport area with their dog Remi.
They have three adult children: Alli recently graduated high school and is living at home, Tyler is a Junior Bible Major at Cedarville University, and Megan along with her husband Jay live in Colorado Springs.
